Description: The Neue Zürcher Zeitung is a daily newspaper committed to the basic ideas of Swiss liberalism and the pursuit of high journalistic quality. It was founded in 1780 under the name Zürcher Zeitung by the publishing house Orell, Gessner, Füssli & Co. In 1821, the name was changed to Neue Zürcher Zeitung. From 1869, two editions were published daily, from 1894 to 1969 there were three editions per day. Since 1974, only one daily edition has been published, of which there has also been an international edition since 1995. With NZZ Online, the first articles of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung were also made available digitally in 1997.

The publication of the digitised version of the NZZ will end in 1965 for the time being, with the rest to follow in 2022.
