Description: Born from the merger of the Journal de Bex, the Messager des Alpes, the Echo de la Montagne and the Journal du Haut-Lac, the Journal du Chablais was published for the first time on January 6th, 1993. It was first distributed every Wednesday in the Chablais households, the four aforementioned newspapers keeping their own editions published on Tuesdays and Fridays until April 2nd , 1993. From this date, the Journal du Chablais replaced its predecessors and was published three times a week. Entirely devoted to regional news, it also aimed, according to its own words, to "erase" the Rhône border between the Vaudois Chablais and the Valais Chablais. It was replaced by the weekly Chablais Magazine in December 2001.
