Description: A Christian Social Union newspaper, organ of the Christlicher Metallarbeiter-Verband der Schweiz [Christian Metalworkers' Union of Switzerland], printed in quarto format from 1930 to 1939, then in folio format and from 1975 again in quarto format. The newspaper first appeared weekly, then from mid-June 1992 every two weeks and from 1992 monthly. It contained eight pages per issue and was printed in Winterthur (Buchdruckerei Konkordia). A lot of space was devoted to sections' reports (association news, section reports). The long-term editors were Johann Heil and Franz Heim. Published under the title Der schweizerische Metallarbeiter from 1930 until March 1963, then under the title CMV-Zeitung. Starting in 1975, the Gewerkschaftliche Presseverein der christlichen Gewerkschaften der Schweiz [Union of Trade Unions of the Christian Unions in Switzerland] issued a new paper titled aktiv, comprising 12 pages and containing the multi-page supplements CMV-Zeitung and Azione sindacale (in Italian) (CMV-Ausgabe). In 1999 it became Syna, das Magazin.
