Description: Focused entirely on local information, L'Ajoie appeared for the first time on 21 October 2014. The idea to create a new newspaper came from the board of directors of the newspaper Le Franc-Montagnard in Saignelégier. Similar to the Taignon edition, L'Ajoie is supposed to report on events that are close to people and make up their everyday lives. The newspaper was published three times a week from 2014 until the end of September 2017 and supplemented a distribution "to all households" about 15 times a year. However, insufficient subscriptions and digital competition forced the Board of Directors to announce the end of the newspaper at the end of November 2017. At that point, the paper was bought by Dr Charles Clément, a media entrepreneur who believes in the paper's continued existence and in local information. In March 2018, Sébastien Fasnacht leaves RTS to take up the post of editor-in-chief and lead the cross-platform transformation envisaged by the new publisher. In the same year, the newspaper develops a digital offer, strong and free, on the web and on Facebook. In early 2019, the publisher Éditions l'Ajoie announces the launch of L'Ajoie Mag, a separate title dedicated to the "to all households" editions, and then in the autumn the nationwide broadcast of a local television channel, Ajoie TV - an independent, subsidy-free channel dedicated entirely to the district.
