Description: Published twice a week from June 1899, the Briger Anzeiger defined itself as a local apolitical newspaper. It was the Walliser Bote's first serious contender, and for German-speaking Valais it represented the voice of a conservative movement with more liberal and democratic tendencies. Printed by Tscherrig & Trœndle until 1960, the Briger Anzeiger’s editors included Alexander Seiler, Carl Tscherrig and Leo Hallenbarter. In December 1933 it became the Walliser Nachrichten-Briger Anzeiger, and was published three times a week. This title merged with the Walliser Bote in 1961.
