Description: In the year of transition 1798, from 15. To 11.7 the bookseller Johann Jakob Hausknecht produced the quarto format newspaper titled Schweizerische Tag-Blätter, enthaltend die neuesten Begebenheiten der Löblichen Stände Zürich, Bern, Basel, Thurgäu und Rheinthal (title page of the first collection)[Swiss daily containing the latest events from the worthy places Zurichm Bern, Basel, Thurgäu und Rheinthal] enthaltend die neuesten Begebheiten der Löblichen Stände Zürich, Bern, Basel, Luzern, Solothurn, Schaffhausen und Thurgäu (title page of the second collection) [containing the latest events from the worthy places Zürich, Bern, Basel, Luzern, Solothurn, Schaffhausen and Thurgäu] oder die merkwürdigen Ereignisse in der jetzigen Staats-Umwälzung vom May 1798 bis zu Anfang Julii (title page of the thrid collection) [or the strange events in the present state of upheaval May 1798 to the beginning of July] was published. The title Schweizerische Tag-Blätter appeared at the head of each number only after the second collection. It appeared irregularly in January and from February onwards twice a week.
