Description: An advertisement for Le Courrier fribourgeois was published on December 1, 1829, followed by a test issue on 10 December 1829. Publication of the biweekly began in 1830 and its title change to Le Véridique in 1931. This was the first cantonal newspaper of opinion and in the foreword of the test issue of December 10, 1829 described its approach as follows: "the task of Le Courrier fribourgeois will be to always keep the balance between the two most opposite poles of public opinion, and to communicate to its readers the daily news without bias"
